SIX THINGS YOU CAN DO THIS WEEK TO IMPROVE YOUR MARKETING

  1. Start engaging – strategically
    • Think about the people you want seeing your content – and start engaging with them on social media. Want to get the attention of local moms? Start commenting on momfluencers’ content. Know your audience are all music lovers? Start engaging with music shops and concert venues.
      • ACTION ITEM: Spend 15 minutes a day doing this,  and watch your followers grow.

  2. Take a peek at your grid – are you being consistent?
    • Your overall “vibe” should be recognizable online, so when people see your posts,  they know it’s you. This begins with consistent fonts and brand guidelines. By sticking to some consistency, you’ll be sure to have people start recognizing your content when they see it.
      • ACTION ITEM: If you don’t already have a consistent brand presence, choose (up to) 3 fonts, and 4 colors to be consistent with on social. (If this feels overwhelming, it can be a great time to invest in a graphic designer – email us for some amazing brand builders!)

  3. Pull back on the AMOUNT of content you’re sharing each week, and focus on quality!
    • Quality over quantity. Your audience wants to get to know you and understand how you’re different from your competitors, they DON’T want to feel inundated or like you’re selling to them. It’s OK to post LESS if the quality improves when you relieve the pressure to post every day.
      • ACTION ITEM: Give yourself permission to post less.

  4. Pay attention to who you’re following/ seek inspiration elsewhere
    • It’s easy to fall into the trap of following the same sources repeatedly, leading to stagnation and limited creativity. To break free from this cycle, diversify your sources of inspiration. Follow thought leaders and experts outside your immediate industry to gain new perspectives and insights. Explore content from different mediums such as podcasts, books, and online forums to broaden your horizons. By exposing yourself to diverse ideas and perspectives, you’ll fuel your creativity and discover innovative approaches to marketing that set you apart from the competition.
      • ACTION ITEM: Ask  your audience for podcast recommendations, or who their favorite account to follow online is.

  5. Get to know your customers.
    • To truly connect with your customers, you need to go beyond surface-level demographics and delve into their motivations, pain points, and preferences.
      • ACTION ITEM: Survey your customers, asking them questions about how they found you, the pain points you solve, and what they love seeing from you on social.

  6. Choose ONE metric you want to measure/track
    • In the age of big data, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer volume of metrics and analytics available to track. However, trying to monitor everything at once can be counterproductive and lead to analysis paralysis. Instead, focus on identifying one key metric that aligns with your business objectives and marketing goals.
      • ACTION ITEM: Set a SMART goal and choose ONE metric to focus on this month. Review it at the end of the month and see how you did!
